Constructed in 1928 this course has seen many great players over the years. The long list includes golf notables such as Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Harvey Penick and John Bredemus.

Originally created by the Lions Club, this short, 6000 yard course is known as Austin’s most beloved municipal course. The unique design includes oak and cedar trees, lies just north of Town Lake and attracts over 100,000 golfers each year. “Old Muni” continues to challenge and delight golfers with it’s colorful history, difficulty and beauty.

2013 Course Fees
Weekday Green Fee – $21.50
Weekend Green Fee – $24.50
Junior – $9.00
Senior (weekdays only) – $12.50
Evening – $17.50
Sunset – $14.50
Cart rental – $12.50 per rider
Club rental – $15.00

You can make reservations online or call 512-477-6963. Weekday tee times are taken 7 days in advance and for weekend reservations you can call on Tuesday. They take reservations as early as 7am on the day of the reservation.

Lions Municipal Golf Course if closed for maintenance on the third Monday of the month unless it is a holiday or a major golf tournament. Practice facilities include an irons only driving range and putting greens.
