Boo At The Zoo! Halloween Fun 2013
Halloween is coming and here’s a wonderful idea for the entire family. Boo at the Zoo at the Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary will be offering their Haunted Train Rides and Haunted House several evenings in October for your enjoyment.
Boo at the Zoo is the Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary’s annual fall fundraiser benefiting their rescued animals.
You can purchase tickets by calling 512-288-1490 using your Visa, MasterCard or Discover card.
You will need to know what day and train ride time you want when you call. Here’s the schedule:
The dates of Boo at the Zoo are October 11, 12, 18, 19, 25 and 26.
The Haunted Train Ride departure times are 7pm, 7:20pm, 7:40pm, 8pm, 8:20pm and 8:40pm each evening.
The Haunted House if open all evening each night of Boo at the Zoo.
Please note that if you decide to cancel they require a 48 hour notice.

Hours
Regular Hours are from February 1st through October 31st
Every day – 9:30am – 6pm (No entry after 5:00pm)
The Gift Shop closes at 5pm
Winter Hours begin November 1st and continue until January 31st
Every day – 9:30am – 5:30pm (No entry after 4:30pm)
Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
The Gift Shop closes at 4:30pm
Food
The concession stand is now open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am until 3pm, offering drinks, snacks and shaved ice and accepts cash only. And you are always welcome to bring your own food and beverages.

Senior, age 60+ – $8
Military – $8
Child, age 2-12 – $6
Member Guest – $6
Animal Food for Goats, Sheep, Deer, Llamas – $2
Group Rates
Birthday Parties $6 per person
Groups (15+ people scheduled in advance, please) $6 per person
Field Trips (15+ school kids with chaperones) $5 per person
The Animals
At the Austin Zoo and Animal Sanctuary you can see a variety of animals:
Big cats – Such as lions, tigers, jaguars, panthers, leopards, cheetahs and cougars.
Monkeys – There are 264 known species of monkeys…
Reptiles – You’ll find lots of snakes, lizards, giant tortoises and more…
Amphibians – This group includes toads, frogs and salamanders…
Birds – The Austin Zoo has many exotic birds that are brightly colored and can be very noisy. Expect to see Peacocks roaming around freely.
Domestic Animals – You will see deer, goats, sheep and pigs. And bring $2, because you can buy animal food at the gift shop.
Other Animals – Lemur, Bear, Serval, Prairie Dog, Binturong
