Moving Checklist – What to do 6 Weeks Before Your Move

Published on April 2nd, 2012

Last week I started a series, Moving Checklist. It is from a great article I found online by Real Simple. It tells what to do and when to do it! Here are the things they suggest you do Six Weeks before your move…

“Order supplies. Order boxes and other supplies such as tape, Bubble Wrap, and permanent markers. Don’t forget to order specialty containers, such as dish barrels or wardrobe boxes.”

By ordering your boxes and other supplies well ahead of time, you have plenty of time to sort and pack.

This next idea will keep you from throwing food away on moving day…

“Use it or lose it. Start using up things that you don’t want to move, like frozen or perishable foods and cleaning supplies.”

And this last one can help you keep down surprises on moving day….

“Take measurements. Check room dimensions at your new home, if possible, and make sure larger pieces of furniture will fit through the door.”

You can see more moving ideas at Real Simple.

Happy Moving
