Pack a Bag with Essentials – Once you have reached your new home you will most likely want to rest before you begin unpacking. Having easy access to toiletries, a change of clothes and other essentials eases the burden by allowing you a good night’s rest before you tackle all that unpacking.
Pack Needed Items in Clear Containers – Clear containers allow for easy location of important items, such as cookware, utensils, box cutters and tools.
Label What and Where – The unpacking process will feel more manageable if you unpack by room. Labeling boxes on the side with their content and what room they go in makes unpacking much easier.
Cover Toiletries with Saran Wrap – Covering the opening of your toiletries with saran wrap can help prevent them from breaking and spilling during your move.
Sandwich Bags for the Small Stuff – Sandwich bags are great for transporting small parts of things you have taken apart. By placing small items in a sandwich bag and taping it to the back of the item it corresponds to, reassembly will be considerably easier.
Take a Picture of Electronics – With all those wires and connections, electronic equipment can be difficult to reconnect. Taking a picture before you disconnect any wiring will help when it comes time to put it all back together at your new home.
