Circuit of the Americas, Formula 1 Racing – Austin Attractions
Circuit of the Americas in Austin is the first Grand Prix racing facility in the country. It is designed for all kinds of racing. Formula 1 has selected Austin for it’s races from 2012 to 2021.
That means a lot of money for our city, the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix weekend at Circuit of the Americas is estimated to have an economic impact of approximately $400-500 million. With an expected 80% of attendees coming from outside Texas.
Formula 1 is the highest level of auto racing sanctioned by the Federation Internationale, the governing body of world motorsports.
The Circuit of The Americas’ is a 3.4-mile track with capacity for 120,000 fans and an elevation change of 133 feet. Circuit of The Americas is on a 1,000-acre site in southeast Austin, approximately two miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, with scenic views of downtown.
As expected from the Live Music Capitol of the World, some of the biggest names in music will be entertaining audiences at the Tower Amphitheater. It is the largest permanent stage in Austin and holds 15,000 people. Look for major concerts and national touring events to be held there.
The Circuit of the Americas complex includes a conference center, banquet hall and state-of-the-art medical facility. There are plans for a driving/riding experience, a motorsports driving club, go kart track, event center and a recreational vehicle park.
