St. Patrick’s Day Austin – Cool Things To Do In Austin
Looking for a family friendly St. Patrick’s Day celebration? Well here it is, the Celtic Cultural Center of Texas will show off their Irish talents at St. Patrick’s Day Austin, with dance, music, food and drink all day Sunday March 17th, 2013. The tradition is over 10 years old and you can expect lots of fun and celebrating.
They will have indoor and outdoor stages and they are even preparing workshops for adults featuring, “Irish Blessings and Curses.” For the children there will be a children’s storytelling in Irish. Also, they will be teaching Irish language classes for patrons of all ages that would like to learn some beginning Irish phrases.
What would a celebration be with out music and dance? They will be hosting Goitse from Liemerick, Ireland, a highly talented five piece band. There will also be local talent such as Jeff Moore, The Tea Merchants and the Silver Thistle Pipes and Drums. Nothing gets your feet moving like an Irish jig. The dance troop Inishfree Austin Dance will be on hand to show how it’s done, along with the Clickey Cloggers and their mountain style of dance.
The food at the celebration will be a special menu consisting of Fish n Chips, Shepherd’s Pie and Corned Beef and Cabbage. All your favorite Irish beer will be on tap including Guinness and Harp and Smithwicks.
St. Patrick’s Day Austin will benefit the Celtic Cultural Center of Texas.
