If a two year college will meet your needs, look no further, the Austin Community College District has 8 area campuses with 4 specific areas of focus: General education and academic transfer, Workforce education, Foundation programs to get students college-ready and Lifelong learning (Continuing Education).

These 8 campuses are located around the Austin area: Rio Grande Campus, Riverside Campus, Northridge Campus, Pinnacle Campus, Cypress Creek Campus, Eastview Campus, South Austin Campus, Round Rock Campus, Elgin Campus (scheduled to open fall 2013) and Hays Campus (scheduled to open spring 2014).

With 12 centers located around the area, getting an education can be very convenient. Austin Community College offers classes in the evening at local high schools. These classes offer college credit and the same standards as the faculty and courses on the ACC campuses. Here’s a list of centers around the area; Bastrop Center, Elgin Center, Fredericksburg Center, Georgetown Center, Hays Center, Leander Center, Lockhart Center, Manor Center, Pflugerville Center, San Marcos Center, San Marcos Goodnight Center.

With 8 campuses and 12 Centers the Austin Community College District is the second largest institution of higher learning in Central Texas. Offering over 235 associate degree and certificate programs as of Fall of 2011.

Accreditation – December 1978 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission of Colleges to award the associate degree. “ACC holds articulation agreements with over 40 universities, colleges, and institutes. ACC boasts a 43% transfer and graduation rate over 3 years.”

Tuition – “As of fall 2012, all Texas students at ACC regardless of residency status pay $62 in tuition per credit hour. All Texas students additionally pay $16 in fees (general fee, student activity fee, and sustainability fee) per credit hour. Texas students not residing within the ACC taxing district also pay an out-of-district fee of $162 per credit hour. Out-of-state and international students pay $324 in tuition and fees per credit hour.”
