The Austin Museum of Art offers two locations providing environments rich with contemporary art. Their offerings include exhibits, programs and education. The two unique locations are able to bring more engaging exhibitions and programs to Austin.

Exhibitions and Programs – “AMOA-Arthouse originates and presents a year-round schedule of contemporary art exhibitions featuring emerging and mid-career artists from across the globe.”

Here are just some of the upcoming exhibits and programs..

Impressionist Trading Post
July 14th – September 1st, 2013
The Jones Center, Loft
During regular museum hours
Free with museum admission

“Bring gently used art books, postcards, posters, or other museum gift shop wares to trade all summer long at the pop-up Impressionist Trading Post. In the spirit of Devon Dikeou’s varied art practice, which generously invites other artists and the public into an exchange, visitors can browse, create, or swap Impressionist-inspired items from the Trading Post’s changing collection of goods.”

Stop and Eat the Roses
July 23rd, 2013
7:30 – 10pm
The Jones Center, Rooftop
Tickets: $20 // $15 for members

Artist Devon Dikeou recreated the flower arrangements in Manet’s last paintings for this exhibit, called Please. Come experience the art and enjoy food and drink created with edible flowers.

Education
The Austin Museum of Art offers a selection of educational opportunities for artists of all all ages.

The Art School at Laguna Gloria
“For fifty years, The Art School at Laguna Gloria has worked to help Austin’s budding artists expand their creativity, enhance visual awareness, and cultivate technical skills in a wide variety of media. The school offers classes for ages three through adult in painting, drawing, wheel throwing (pottery), photography, collage, mosaics, watercolor, pastels, jewelry, glass, metal, digital media and more.”
