Austin Texas Chocolate Festival 2013
Calling All Chocolate Lovers! The 6th Annual Austin Texas Chocolate Festival 2013 is this November and you won’t want to miss it!
So, what is a chocolate festival?, you ask. It is where chocolate lovers from all over meet and enjoy samples from restaurants, bakeries, chocolatiers, patisseries and catering companies as the compete in several categories. There will also be products to purchase.
The Austin Chocolate festival has raised money for Multiple Sclerosis and Breast Cancer. If you’d like to contribute there are several ways to do so. Of course, you can go to the festival, but they also have sponsorships available and they are looking for volunteers too.
The tickets are sold in two hour time slots that coordinate to the competition events. There are only a certain number of tickets for each time slot. When they run out of a certain time slot, you won’t even be able to purchase tickets at the door.
Here’s a list of the different competitions and their times to help you decide when you’d like to attend. Of course you can attend the entire day if you like, as long as there are tickets available. Get your tickets early! You can order online, you will get an email and pick up your tickets the days of the festival (November 16th and 17th) at the will call table. Bring a photo ID with you to the festival, tickets are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for another time slot.
Saturday November 16th
10 – 12 Best Brownie
12 – 2 Best Mole
2 – 4 Most Creative Dessert
4 – 6 Best Cookie
Sunday November 17th
10 – 12 Best Frozen Dessert
12 – 2 Best Truffle (judged by public)
2 – 4 Best Truffle (judged by professional panel)
2 – 4 Best Chocolate Couverture (judged by the public)
4 – 6 Kids Cookie Decorating (Free for 1st 30 entries)
Festival guests and industry professionals will be judging and voting. Awards will be given after the competition or delivered by mail.
