This year you can enjoy several fun and free Fourth of July events around Austin. Here are some for you to choose from.

Austin Symphony H-E-B July 4th Concert & Fireworks – With free admission this event is sure to be a superstar for families in Austin. There are expected to be more than 100,000 people at Auditorium Shores to hear the Austin Symphony and see the fireworks display over Lady Bird Lake.

This will be the 37th year for the event, and it is free and open to the public! You are invited to bring a picnic, but concessions will be available. The Austin Symphony Orchestra will begin at 8:30 and the fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30.

4th of July Celebration with The Austin Civic Wind Ensemble  –  This year you don’t have to wait until after dark to enjoy the celebration!  At Unity Church of the Hills starting at 10am, with breakfast tacos and fruit, fun games and snow cones.  At noon there will be a concert from the Austin Civic Wind Ensemble, a 70-piece community band.  There is no fee, food and entertainment are on a love offering basis only.

July Fourth Frontier Days Celebration 2013 in Round Rock – This year featuring carnival rides, fireworks and a parade. Entrance to this event is free and the fireworks will be synced with the Round Rock Express fireworks and will start immediately after the game.

The fun will begin with free watermelon at the Lakeview Pavilion. Also, you won’t want to miss the skydivers, pony rides, arts and crafts vendors, Ballet dancers, the Sam Bass Shootout, a pepper eating contest, rubber duck races and after the fireworks there will be a movie in the park featuring The Amazing Spider-Man.

The Parade starts at 10am in downtown Round Rock with Face Painting, Caricature Artists, Balloon Twisters and an Air Brush Tattoo Artist at the Main Street Plaza until 1pm and then continues at Old Settlers Park. Summerfest San Marcos Celebration – Come enjoy live entertainment, food, children’s activities, the music of David Ybarra’s Swing Band, fireworks and a parade, along the banks of the beautiful San Marcos River.   Beginning at 6pm, the City of San Marcos is hosting Summerfest at San Marcos Plaza Park.  The event is free, rain or shine with fun for the entire family.  The grand finale will be fireworks at 9:30.

You may bring your cooler, but there is no alcohol, glass or Styrofoam of any kind allowed in the park.  San Marcos Plaza is located at 202 N. CM Allen Pkwy in San Marcos.  For more information and map at go to Summerfest San Marcos Celebration.
