“In June of 1961, the Heart of Texas Orchid Society was organized by our charter members: Dr. & Mrs. S.W. Bohls, Mr. & Mrs J.D. Fisk, Mr. & Mrs. R. Brooks Oakley, Mr. Ed Peterson, Mr. Colin Seale, Mr. & Mrs. Harold Schmitt and Mr. & Mrs. W.B. Wardlow. Here we are 50 years later celebrating orchids and carrying on their original vision for the society. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their contribution of extensive orchid knowledge that they freely shared with all who were interested, allowing us to broaden our reach to new and younger generations of orchid growers. Whether you are 12 or 92, we understand and encourage your love of orchids.”
