Chesiel John’s Barrel Project – “More than 20 tons of trash are expected to be collected at Clean Sweep. To help us better understand the magnitude of this amount of waste, Chesiel John, an American artist living and working in Austin, Texas, has reclaimed found objects and transformed them into art – The Barrel Project. Raw, sculptural, and composed of items discarded from modern culture, the project celebrates how even the most common objects can be re-purposed and offered as a way to examine and celebrate the joys of life.”
