Here’s an Austin original! It’s the Keep Austin Weird Fest and 5K 2014! This June Austin let’s it’s hair down and celebrates it’s creative, hospitable and weird nature with it’s one of a kind festival and 5K. With local vendors, food, family activities and music this celebration is sure to have something for every member of your family. So round ’em up and come on out for a fun day in the Texas sun.

Food
This years details haven’t been worked out yet, but here’s a sampling from last year to get your mouth watering: Crepe Crazy, Taylor’s Seafood, Heros Gyros, Cristi’Ali Cuisine, LLC, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Bob & Deb’s Fried Pies, As Good As It Gets, Tiny Pies, and Slice of Ice.

Vendors
Here are a few of last year’s vendors: Swinn, Baubles & Lace, Scentsy Wickless Candles, Gens Fashion Jewelry & Accessories and Mamasitas Specialty Foods, LLC.

5K Details
This may not be your usual 5K, but then this isn’t your usual city or festival! Here’s a list of the fun stops along the way in the past: Amy’s Ice Cream Tasting and Trickster Scooping, Austin Culture Map Whiskey Tasting, Austin Ukulele Society, Clif Bar’s Ultimate Slip and Slide, Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting, Guitar Shawn, H-E-B Super Soakers, Luke’s Locker, Nothing Bundt Cake’s Cake Walk, Slice Ice, Tiny Pies’ Pie in the Face, Twisted Shotz, Windsor Communities, Yellow Cab Low Fare Limbo and Z Tequila.

Music
This years performers will be announced soon, in the mean time, here’s a list of past performers: Bob Schneider, Bright Light Social Hour, Alejandro Escovedo, What Made Milwaukee Famous, The Whigs, The Greencards, Memphis Strange, Dale Watson and Mother Truckers.

Festival opens at 2pm
5K starts at 7pm

Festival Details
You can take strollers, folding chairs, small umbrellas, bottled water, blankets and small tarps into the festival. You can not take in alcohol , weapons, glass, pets, coolers or any food or beverage other than bottled water.

The festival ends at 10pm and they will be selling Keep Austin Weird shirts, hats, koozies and other merchandise.
