Making Your Oversees Move Less Stressful

Published on September 17th, 2012

As usual I am always looking for ideas to make moving less stressful and more enjoyable. This time the focus is on making your oversees move less stressful.  But, keep in mind that these ideas are also valuable for any move.

The article advises that couples talk to each other in advance, sharing feelings and needs. And that they involve the children as much as possible. Another great piece of advice discussed in the article is preparing as much as possible before the move, there is even a check list (and you know how much I love those) that starts 90 days out and brings you up to the move.

Another important point is to know that you don’t have to stay if you don’t like your new home. It seems sometimes we believe we must stay to save face. Also suggested is to find a way to let off some of the stress, such as walking, listening to music or going for a massage, this way you can diffuse some of the stress as it comes and enjoy your move more.
