Published on February 27th, 2013

Way back in 1987 when the Old Settler’s Music Festival began it was held in Round Rock, now you’ll find this delightful festival in Driftwood, just south of Austin. There have been hundreds of bands perform over the years including Alison Krauss, Bruce Hornsby, Patty Griffin, Iron & Wine and more. Bring the children and your camping gear because you’ll want to enjoy the April weather in Texas as well as the great music they have lined up for this years fun.

The Old Settler’s Music Festival 2013 boasts a down-home friendly vibe. The beautiful landscape, huge shade trees, daily temps around 80 degrees, and our wonderful bluebonnets will provide the setting. Located at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch, expect nonstop music for four straight days, with workshops, kids activities, concerts, impromptu jam sessions all day and through the night.

“Four Stages of Outstanding Music – Every year, we feature more than 30 bands on four stages at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch. Thursday nights are special at Old Settler’s with a “Settle In” show on the Camp Ben stage from 4:30 to midnight. Friday afternoon features another bonus for campers — the Camp Ben Jam from noon to 3 pm at the Camp Ben Stage. Friday and Saturday, we move across the street to the Salt Lick Pavilion with three different stages operating from 4 pm to midnight on Friday and 10:30 am to midnight on Saturday. Sunday, back at Camp Ben, wake up to some “pickin & prayin” gospel, all around goodtime final show that begins at 10 am and closes around 5 pm. Campers can greet the morning with the yoga masters on Friday and Saturday mornings.”

They are saying not to wait to get your camping spot, they go fast.  Also, in many years past the concert sells out, so get your tickets now. They’ll be selling discounted tickets until April 6th. You can buy a ticket for a single day or multiple days, with or without camping option.
