TriRock – Triathlon Series Austin 2013

This Labor Day come out and enjoy the 2nd Annual TriRock – Triathlon Series Austin! Formerly the Austin Triathlon, this popular event, featuring triathletes of all levels, is held in downtown Austin. It all starts with a swim course that begins at the Stevie Ray Vaughn statue along Lady Bird Lake, next is the closed bike course over the Congress Street Bridge and the grand finale is the running course along the Auditorium Shores running path. There will be music all along the course and at the end a post race concert!

This year they will have a featured Team Relay Challenge Race for bragging rights only.

Here are a few things to expect at this years race; red carpet finish, music along the course, post race concert, finisher medals and a two day health and fitness expo.

About The Races
Race Distances:
Sprint – 700 meter swim, 16.7 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Intermediate “Olympic” Distance – 1500 meter swim, 24.8 mile bike, 6.2 mile run

Athletes will compete with their age groups. You can also compete as a team of three with each member completing one segment of the race. There will be no age groups for the relay race and participants will compete for fastest overall time.

Races Begin September 2nd at 7am
The Expo – Hyatt Regency Hotel at 208 Barton Springs Road Austin, TX 78704
Expo will be held on September 1st from 10am to 6pm

Spectator Rules
“Follow instructions from all Race Staff, volunteers and public safety officers
Do not at any time, enter the race course
Pacing athletes is not permitted
Be aware of areas Off Limits to spectators
Do NOT lean or push on fencing
Use designated crosswalks only when instructed by volunteers
Always look both ways and behind you before crossing or changing direction
Keep moving in a orderly fashion
Racers have the right of way. Spectators MUST yield to racers in progress
SPECTATORS and/or FAMILY MEMBERS are NOT permitted in the Transition Area
Know your athlete’s race number, swim cap color, wave number, wave start time and estimated finish time
Have a plan to meet up with your athlete at conclusion of race
Leave plenty of travel time. Expect heavy traffic into Race Site and/or Parking Area”
