This fun class will introduce children to the authentic and beautiful Bollywood dance styles of India.  The kids will enjoy being active during this colorful experience of music and dance.

Modern Home Tour Austin 2014

Published on January 10th, 2014
Comments Off on Modern Home Tour Austin 2014

Now here’s something wonderful to do in the middle of winter that will spark your creative juices and dazzle your senses! It’s the Modern Home Tour Austin 2014! This year the tour creators have selected 16 beautiful homes in a variety of neighborhoods, styles and price ranges.

After you purchase and pick up your tickets you can view the homes in any order you like, at any pace you like and with the convenience of your own car as transportation. You can bring the children, but they ask that you leave the strollers in the car and use a back-pack for the little ones. Each home will have it’s own set of rules, such as wearing shoes in the house or not and whether or not you can take pictures.

Some homes will offer food and drink, but they ask that you not bring any food or drinks into any homes. As with any art object, and these homes are art, you’ll need to observe a bit of respect by not sitting on the furniture and be sure to stop to use the bathroom between homes, because the facilities will not be available in the tour homes. No dogs will be allowed in the homes, so be sure to leave your 4 legged friends at home.

Modern Home Tour Austin 2014
February 1st, 2014
11am -6pm
Advance Tickets are $30 until the day before the tour and then they will be sold at $40.
Children under 12 are free.
There will also be a party after the tour, at this time the location has not been announced.

“Founded in 2009 by Krisstina Wise of The GoodLIfe Team, the Austin Modern Home Tour has, in just six short years, become one of the premier events on the Austin calendar of events. “Its purpose was simple – to highlight and promote the collaborative exchange between Real Estate Professionals, Architects and Developers and to invite Austinites to join the Modern Movement,” recalls Wise.

“In conjunction with production partners Launch787 and Modern Home Tours, LLC, the Austin Modern Home Tour has grown from 8 homes in the downtown area to 16 spectacular examples of Modern design, construction and decor spread throughout Austin’s premier neighborhoods. And with over 2500 visitors passing over the threshold of the 2012 Tour homes, it’s safe to say that the Austin Modern Home Tour offers something for everyone.”

The Austin area is home to many of us and we don’t mind sharing the love.  There are a number of reasons why we love our city and it’s surrounding area; we haven’t been hit by the recession as hard as some other US cities have and we have a number of awesome educational opportunities are a couple of the reasons that didn’t make the list, “7 Reasons to Live in Austin Texas”.  Come for a visit and see for yourself just how wonderful it is here in our home.

1. Austin is a Beautiful City – If you’ve been to Austin you know about the lush landscape and scenic countryside. With several large lakes in the area it is not only a beautiful area, but a fun one too! The water sports and recreation available in the area are too many to list. But here are a few; fishing, boating, canoeing, sailing, camping, bird watching, swimming, picnicking, scuba diving, and hiking.

In the heart of the city you’ll find hike and bike trails. Lady Bird Lake, also in the center of town, offers plenty of swimming opportunities and Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool offer a natural environment for family fun and swimming in the year round cool spring fed pool. Besides these and other swimming and tubing places there’s an Animal Rescue Zoo and Schlitterbaun isn’t that far away.

3. Sports – With the Texas Longhorns leading the way in their home town, sports are at the top of the list of great things to do in Austin. You won’t need to look far to find the game day parties, it’s reported that a 10 block radius around the stadium fills up with tailgaters for football, baseball and any other sport played inside the stadium.

4. Live Music and Festivals – For music and festival lovers Austin provides an all out venue! There is a festival almost every weekend and they all have live music by local talent and bands from all over the country. Just about every event in Austin includes live music! And what else would you expect from the Live Music Capitol of the World. Besides the concert circuit there are huge music productions like south by Southwest, Austin City Limits and the music isn’t limited to Austin proper, there are annual music festivals like the Kerrville Folk Festival.

5.  Film – Austin is home to many famous and not so famous film studios.  And Austin is home to various film industry festivals such as Fantastic Fest, Austin Film Festival and South By Southwest Film Festival.
